Friendships

Posted by May on Friday, February 26, 2010

There is no point trying so hard to fix a friendship back to the way it once was when we both know that we are obviously on different wavelengths. During the period of time that we both drifted away from each other, we both became closer to other friends and soon, we were replacing each other subconsciously. And sure, both of us might not have wanted this to happen.. but there is no use regretting it now. Sure, you might be the one that I use to confide things too but the people I confide in and trust now, are completely different. When we drifted apart, my friendships with others has blossomed. We both probably saw it coming, it was inevitable.

Besides people informing me that my close friends have changed drastically over a short period of 6 months, I could kinda see the change for myself. The friends that I'm close with right now in this point of my life, may not be the same in days, weeks, months and probably even years from now. But if we both kept in mind the friendship we both once treasured then we will both agree that the friendship we had was never about the destination but it was the journey that we shared together that was the most important.

So, maybe it's time we both let go~

So everyone that I have drifted away from in the past 6 months.
(You guys know who you are!)

If we become close friends again, one day.. GREAT!
but if we don't, you gotta remember I'll always love you.
always have, always will!

We should all read this.

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centred.
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win unfaithful friends and some enemies.
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you.
Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.
Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten.
Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.
Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.

I survived my first day in university!

Posted by May on Tuesday, February 16, 2010

So, yesterday was my first day of university and I survived it. A few people did ask me on MSN whether some postgraduate student grabbed me by the collar of my shirt, dangle me in the air, demand my lunch money then threaten to leave me hanging off a tree if I don't join their guild. No, no one did that. I also got a text message during one of my breaks asking if I was hanging off a tree. Ha-ha, NO. But glad to know some of my friends has a good sense of humour like ME.

Anyways, I'm so glad that Monday's over. Every Monday night, I have to stay for graveyard shift and, it really is not the least bit fun. When I finished my last tutorial class at 8.30p.m, the university was pretty much..DESERTED! Kinda like a ghost town.

So anyways, my free break day comes right after my hell day which is a perfect timing! I have the whole of today to twiddle my thumb, wiggle my legs, dream about hot guys.. nah, it's not going to be like that. I'm going to have to start studying today, at least a little. I've got homework and they don't look easy. But it's better to complete this homework first because, doing a joint degree.. I think it's going to be hectic. *shakes fist* HECTIC, I tel you! HECTIC.

So, right now.. my e-mail is swarmed with guild invitations either for mass, bible study or just to hang out and this is all because, I decided to sign up for some christian/catholic guild during the O'day for the fun of it. I didn't think they would be so efficient in sending out e-mails but the amount of e-mail in my inbox proves me wrong. So yeah. That's what happens when you give out your e-mail like when your a celebrity giving out autographs. You get swarmed! Lesson, learnt.

Anyways, I think Murdoch might not be THAT bad after all. I'm so judgemental, I deserves a spanking since I'm always telling myself others not to judge the surroudings or the people.. but actually I judge them too. I'm such a judgemental freak and judgemental freak sucks. So, yeah. I know where I stand. LOLOL. Sorry Murdoch'ians out there! Real sorry for judging your university.

Anyways, enough of the ranting. Now, time to study!
*puts on nerd glasses*

First day of university starts tomorrow…

Who knows what tomorrow might be like.. worst case scenario, some postgraduate student might grab me by the collar of my shirt, dangle me in the air, demand my lunch money then threaten to leave me hanging on a tree if I don’t join their guild.

Just kidding.
Tomorrow will be an awesome day.
I hope so!

Northbridge/ Nando’s Plan – backfired!

Posted by May on Thursday, February 04, 2010

Hey guys! Well, today.. I spent my day at Northbridge with Joe and Abby. The initial plan was to go to the beach to sun tan and just chill out under the sun but last night when we checked the weather forecast, it was predicted that today wouldn’t be that hot therefore, we decided to go Northbridge instead. Well, I guess if you know Joe well enough, you would know that he is usually surrounded by Asians and he even calls himself an Asian so me and Abby decided to let Joe experience being an Asian for a day. What better place to go than Northbridge right? Right.

So anyways.. we were meant to pick me up at 11a.m but Joe and Abby overslept and Joe ended up waking up at 11.10a.m and Abby who was meant to get ready by 11:15a.m woke up only after Joe reached her house at about 10.30a.m and knocked really loudly on her bedroom window and shouted ABBBBBBYYYY before she jumped out of bed. (You should have seen her reaction, PRICELESS!) So anyways, at about noon, we headed to Northbridge!

I know, pointless pictures! But, nice weather.

Abby actually thought the motorcycle in front of us was a police.

Since when did police in Perth ride a motorcycle. ROFLMAO.

Well, when we got to Northbridge, we decided to have DIM SUM for lunch!

    IMG_0449IMG_0453IMG_0452

Well after DIM SUM we went to get bubble tea from Ezyway then headed to POTBLACK!

Abby & Me! (I absoutely love her American accent!)

IMG_0455

I was on the floor laughing uncontrollably when I took this picture. Abby accidentally hit the white ball in the hole so she proceeds to put her hand through the hole to get the white ball out then realize her hand was stuck in the hole. She couldn’t figure out why until I told her there was an easier way to retrieve the ball than to stick her hand into the hole.

After potblack, we headed to Utopia to have a karaoke session which lasted 3 hours!!

Well, after our Karaoke session, we went to time zone to take NEOPRINTS!

:)

-Neoprints will not be uploaded on my blog!-

After that, Joe started to get a little hungry so we went to Old Shanghai! I was bored so I started to count my coins. Turns out, Me and Abby had about $15.80 worth of coins which consist of 50c, 20c, 10c and 5c. I was craving for Nando’s which was about 100m from where we were but imagine paying for your food with coins. Embarrassing much? I mean, if I actually do that, I can forget about re-applying for a job at Nando’s in Northbridge.

Then, I’m not sure what triggered this but all of us came up with the idea that we should go to the Nando’s at southlands and ask Joel, another church friend to serve us. So, me and Abby came up with this HUGE plan where we walk into Nando’s and asked to talk to the manager then when Joel came, we would order ribs like normal customers then pour all the coins on the table and watch him count it. I know, we are very mean friends.. but we are actually quite nice! (I swear!!)

So anyways, Joe drove us to Nando’s at southlands but then when we reached there, Me and Abby got cold feet so we backed out and made Joe do it. Here’s how the conversation went..

Bob/Rob: Hi. How can I help you?
Joe: Can I speak to the manager?
Bob/Rob: You can speak to me.
Joe: Nah. Nah, I want to speak to the boss.
Bob/Rob: I’m the boss.
Joe: Nah mate. I want to speak to Joel?
Bob/Rob: You can speak to me. He’s not here
Joe: Is he not working today?
Bob/Rob: Nah. You guys, are from his youth group right?
Joe: Oh, yeah. yeah.

(Me and Abby were laughing UNCONTROLLABLY!)

So poor Joe had to tell the boss our plan, about how we came to Nando’s to buy food but we wanted Joel to serve us so we could dump all our coins on the counter and watch him count it while we just twiddle our thumb and giggle in delight in a mean but friendly way. But, our plan backfired due to the fact that Joel wasn’t there. It was even MORE embarrassing when we had to pay for the ribs that we ordered and Abby had to dumps a whole BUNCH of coins on the counter full of small change and started counting $8.50 worth of coins to pay for the ribs.

While the boss was waiting for Abby to count the coins, he started to talk to us about helping the youth group to fundraise last year.

Our reaction: o___O

His reaction: Awww. You don’t remember? I worked really hard to fundraise and I wasn’t noticed.

Me and Abby: LOLOLOLOL!!!

So yeah, our AWESOME, awesome plan kinda cost us $8.50 but totally backfired.

SO SILLY!
(that’s what Joyce usually says to me!)

  IMG_0508

But it wasn’t that bad since I was REALLY craving for ribs. If I wasn’t this whole plan would never have taken place and that would have been a good thing because it’s the most embarrassing thing that has happened to me this year.

So anyways, while me and Abby were waiting for our ribs, we cam-whored..

TA-DA! His name is Mr Nando’s! HAHAHA

Then Abby took some shots of me kissing him. HAHA

IMG_0509IMG_0510IMG_0512

ROFLMAO! Yes, we were THAT bored while waiting for our food.

Then, when we left Nando’s Abby said…

LOOK! Our ribs are so small yet they gave us such a big bag.
We should complain to Joel next time we come here again.

  IMG_0514

Me and Joe: … (Err Abby, we are not coming here again. Don’t count us in!)

But, none the least. It was an awesome day!
